  Called ahead. The gift shop was closed. As was the parish office. They should not be a tourist site if they don't want to be seen. Rude.

  If I could give this church a zero I would, not because of its beauty but because of the priest and thier lack of compassion for a member of the community. A person dies and he doesn't belong to this church but is Catholic this church wants $300.00 dollars to give him a mass. The family is trying to get money to bury their loved one and the church that should be there for the people in this
  community wants payment of this amount is absurd. This has always been the case with this particular church and one of the reasons people from this community has left the Catholic Church.

  Worth a stop if you are near Taos. To see the mystery painting get $3.00 tickets at the gift shop. Recommend the restaurant in the plaza - authentic New Mexican food.

  Beautiful, peaceful church courtyard. I spent half an hour here looking at the building and enjoying the benches in the shade.
